Use of ambiguity (aimai) in the Japanese culture

In the first part of this topic we will work on one of the distinctive features of Japanese communication, the use of aimai or ambiguity of language.

We will analyze the origins of this communicative style, its relationship with other features of Japanese culture, the effects of ambiguity when establishing contact with people from different cultural backgrounds, and how the Japanese view this characteristic.
