Description
The course examines how the Consolidation of New European Monarchies employed administrative, fiscal, and legal reforms to centralize their power and how they used diplomacy, alliances, and, at times, violence and war as tools to reinforce their authority and expand their influence.
Finally, it will analyze how the consolidation of these monarchies not only transformed their kingdoms but also paved the way for the formation of modern nation-states and a new balance of power in Europe. The centralization of royal power and innovations in governance and culture laid the foundations for political structures that would profoundly influence European history for centuries.
